I'm looking forward to it.

The two teams actually play a pretty similar style.

The Canes most likely won't make the playoffs this year and maybe not for several years. The Staal brothers are doing much better than the first few games of the year, but the offense is anemic. I think that this is because the quality of the players on the third and fourth line is not as high as it should be. The defense, although better, has many young players who play well but make mistakes. I suspect that before the trade deadline you will see Eric Staal, Hainsley, Liles, and other veterans traded for picks and prospects. It is going to takes several years of good trades and draft choices to make this team competitive again. So Caniacs will have to be patience and enjoy those games like Saturday.

Agree to give us a shootout loss point (not giving up our 3-0 OT record), and we can call it off the game and not risk any injuries.

Interestingly enough, the Rangers don't really scare me that much.

Matt - You hit it with the no identity comment. I attended Saturday's game and I can't remember attending a hockey game that bored me to death like that one did. It was a brutal, mind numbing experience - of course until 3 seconds to go in the game when the Canes somehow managed to steal the game from a fairly disinterested Senators squad. Now I know why they are averaging less than 10,000 fans over the last 4 home games. I'm glad the Canes picked up the win, but I wish Skinner wasn't rewarded for his inept play. He's like the guy playing pick up basketball who stands at half court yelling for the ball and getting layups, but not contributing to any defense. Jordan Staal, and Eric for that matter, deserved their success. Good games by both. Same for Cam Ward - if actually saved that game in the third period with a number of stellar saves. There's no doubt more than a few players will be moved at the deadline so it makes it even more depressing while you a have a bunch of dead guys walking, er skating. It's only a matter of time but until then they better hope the goalies play lights out every night. If any of the young guys were lighting it up it may feel different, some hope. Hasn't happened yet.

And yet, here we are.

Think the Canes rigid structure will work well against them.

Should also make for a horribly boring game.
